The America's Army Public Applications team is located in Ft. Ord, California. This award-winning team originally launched the America's Army game at the 2002 Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3). America's Army has met with an overwhelmingly favorable reception and has been featured in more than 3000 stories in the national, local and games media including the Wall Street Journal, Computer Gaming World, New York Times, PC Gamer, MTV and CNN. The game is one of the most successful and popular online action games and is consistently ranked among the top five PC action games played on the Internet worldwide. America's Army has been selected for awards ranging from Computer Gaming World's Editors Choice to a nominated finalist for the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Best PC Action Game of the Year.
The team's mission is to provide an engaging experience that mirrors progression within the Soldier lifecycle experience from entry-level training to deployment in the Global War on Terrorism. Development efforts focus on the key attributes of personal growth, teamwork, leadership, warrior ethos and Army Values (Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage).
The team is currently focused on portraying the world's most elite fighting force, the U.S. Army Special Forces. The team is currently working on two major Special Forces game releases - America's Army: Special Forces (Overmatch) and America's Army: Stryker-Overmatch. Where appropriate, these new releases will incorporate features developed by the Future Applications and Virtual Hereos teams.
