The America's Army teams has implemented the XM307 into America's Army environments. The virtual XM307 was developed as a project for the Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier, Product Manager (PM) Soldier Weapons, Program Manager (PM) Crew Served Weapons for Ammunition to showcase and generate early interest for a weapon that is under development. The XM307 crew-served weapon platform is a next-generation replacement for current heavy and grenade machine guns.

In addition to benefiting from recoil mitigation and being highly portable, the XM307 utilizes a ballistic calculating computer to deliver with precision its devastating 25mm high-explosive airbursting ammunition to 2000 meters. With its airbursting capability, the XM307 can engage both visible and hidden targets, such as those in foxholes, behind rocks and walls, and inside buildings and windows.
