Purpose: Convoy Training
Use: Classroom-based Training
Development: 4 months
Fielded: Fall 2005

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Created for the U.S. Army's TRADOC as a pilot project for the Basic Officer Leadership Course, the Convoy Skills Engagement Trainer (CSET) is a deployable, instructor-led training system for convoy skills. In the application Soldiers configure convoys and develop tactics as they embark on different scenarios such as VIP transport, pick-ups or drop-offs, and trying to reach a checkpoint to hand off their vehicles. Soldiers train against Artificial Intelligence or human OPFOR. The instructor can alter many variables such as the actions of the OPFOR and their weapons attacks. The trainer has a number of scenarios which take place during the day or night in environments ranging from rural highways to downtown urban settings. The convoy trainer is easily deployable, uses organic unit weapons with drop-in recoil systems and can be set up anywhere around the world.
